Background
Eugene Ahern was admitted as a solicitor in 1979 and having completed his training in London joined a private practice in Essex. He became a Partner in 1982 and remained with the same practice until transferring to the Bar in 2007.
As a solicitor he initially undertook both Family and General Civil Litigation in all Court before ultimately deciding to specialise in Family Law and Personal Injury Law. In 1985 he was appointed as a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel in which capacity he has acted for several Local Authorities, Parents and Children.
He was also for several years a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.
Latterly Mr Ahern has specialised in Family Law but with a particular preference for Public Law Children Act Proceedings. As a former solicitor he has a particular understanding of the work of a solicitor.
Mr Ahern is married with two adult children and lives locally.
