Jeremy Simison (1993)

Specialising in Children Act actions including public law care and private law proceedings and adoptions in the Family Proceedings and County Courts and the High Court; financial relief; financial disputes between cohabitees.

Jeremy Simison’s family law practice includes particular expertise in care proceedings in which he acts for Local Authorities, children’s Guardians, parents and other family members. He has acted in large, complex and ‘high cost’ cases, split hearings, and non-accidental injury cases where parents are in conflicting positions. He also has an extensive practice in ancillary relief dealing with a wide spectrum of assets including foreign assets and pensions.

Mr Simison’s noteworthy cases include W 1-6 -v- Essex County Council and another [2000] 2 WLR 601, which considered the extent of a local authority’s liability for the negligence of their employees.

A former major in the Royal Artillery, Jeremy Simison has successfully requalified as a barrister. He has worked for a major firm of City solicitors and has great insight into both branches of the legal profession.

Jeremy Simison is a member of the FLBA and the Bar Yacht Club. He sits on the Chelmsford Family Court Users Committee.

Jeremy Simison is married to a successful solicitor. They have two children and live in North-West London.
