Background
Following completion of a degree in Psychology Miss Catton-Newell worked for Suffolk County Council undertaking public law Children Act cases as well as regulatory criminal prosecutions on behalf of public authorities. During her employment, Miss Catton-Newell completed the Bar Vocational Course part time.
Miss Catton-Newell completed pupillage at Trinity Chambers before being made a tenant in 2011 and has continued to practice in family law and undertakes all aspects of applications under the Children Act (both private and public law), Family Law Act and Ancillary Relief applications.
In respect of her civil practice, Miss Catton-Newell has conducted small claims, fast track and multi track cases in the County Courts. Furthermore, Miss Catton-Newell practises in regulatory criminal prosecutions for Council’s, the Constabulary and Trading Standards in the Crown Court.
Miss Catton-Newell is an approachable and understanding advocate for lay clients and is able to forward their case persuasively whilst maintaining an ability to provide appropriate and sound advice.
