Background
Stephanie studied law at the University of Essex prior to obtaining a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn and being called to the Bar in 2005. Having then spent 18 months working for a solicitors firm she was already in a strong position to build a successful practice during pupillage at Trinity Chambers. Instructed by a range of prosecuting authorities, Stephanie has gained appellate experience, as well as developing particular expertise in arguing ‘special reasons’ and ‘exceptional hardship’ in driving cases.
Since becoming a tenant in 2008, Stephanie’s focus has shifted towards a thriving practice in all areas of family law, including public and private law children work and financial matters. She has been involved in a number of complex contact cases involving issues such as implacable hostility, mental health concerns, sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Stephanie advises and represents clients in ancillary relief, Schedule 1 and TOLATA applications. She has found that her approachable and yet robust and practical style has transferred well to the civil arena where she is regularly instructed in small claims trials, infant settlements, insolvency matters and possession hearings.
