Stella was called to the Bar in 2021 having previously been Head of the Family department at a large high street solicitors practice that specialised in advocacy in children law. As a solicitor advocate she was specialised in both public law care proceedings and private family law proceedings dealing with types of applications regarding the arrangements for children.
As a solicitor Stella was for many years an assessor for the Law Society Child Law accreditation panel.
Stella is a skilled and experienced advocate in complex cases of suspected non accidental injury where medical evidence can sometimes be controversial and requires enquiry and challenge. She has dealt with a number of complex appeals and has appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Stella represents local authorities, parents, grandparents, other relatives and children.
Stella is also very experienced in dealing with complex wardship, adoption and surrogacy cases, protection from FGM and forced marriage.
Stella is thorough in her preparation and is a confident and robust advocate. Stella is patient and empathetic with clients and will work constructively with others to reach an agreement if possible provided it remains in her clients best interests.
